You are bidding on TWO bottles of this rare 1978 St Julien (Médoc) wine from Chateau Beychevelle. The wine is a dark ruby red and the aroma emits all the expected earthy forest and mushroom notes that one would expect from a wine of this quality and age. It is proper old school claret and these two bottles would make an excellent special birthday or anniversary gift. The blend is mainly Cab Sav and Merlot with a touch of Cab Franc and Petit Verdot for 'seasoning'. Chateau Beychevelle is a 4th Growth Grand Clu Classé from the 1855 Classification and has consistently produced excellent wines with the ability to develop amazingly in the bottle over time.
