Description

"The 1985 Cos D'Estournel, a wine that is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot was aged in 100% new oak for the first time, is cast from the same mould as the 1982 and 1953 vintages.
It is forward, with a fabulously scented bouquet of toasty new oak and concentrated red fruit.
On the palate, it is very rich, lush, long and full-bodied". (Tasted approx.1987).

"Bricking dark red violet color; appealing, sweet tobacco, salty plum, dried currant nose; tasty, mature, dried currant, tart plum, tobacco, anise palate, with firm, sweet tannins, has decades more to go; medium-plus finish".
