Single bottle taken from its Original Wooden Case (OWC).

This exceptional Second Growth Château Ducru-Beaucaillou Bordeaux epitomises elegance and refinement. Its name, "Beaucaillou," refers to the beautiful gravel soils that contribute to the wine s distinct character and quality. The estates focus on meticulous viticulture and winemaking consistently produces wines of elegance and depth.
The 1988 vintage in Bordeaux was generally excellent, noted for its classical structure and longevity. The growing season was characterized by a dry summer and early autumn, leading to small, concentrated grapes. The 1988 vintage matured gracefully, often displaying excellent balance, making them ideal for those seeking well-aged Bordeaux.

Appearance: Medium garnet with slight bricking, indicative of graceful aging.
Nose: Complex aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco, leather, and subtle earthiness.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with fine tannins, balanced acidity, and flavors of dark fruit, graphite, and forest floor.
Finish: Long and refined, with lingering notes of cedar and minerality.

Pairs beautifully with classic French cuisine, such as lamb roasted with herbs, beef Wellington, or duck confit. Aged cheeses like Comté or Gruyère are also excellent companions.
