Description

Considered the greatest white wine in the world, Château d'Yquem, located on a small hill, benefits from an exceptional microclimate and terroir. The vineyard, which has no less than 150 plots of different soils, is pampered throughout the year: each vine receives an average of 50 treatments per year. The selection is particularly rigorous in Yquem: it is often said that a vine stock produces only one glass of wine. The harvest is carried out in at least four passages (seven in 1997!) In order to harvest the grapes at perfect maturity, affected by noble rot.

This bottle is changing from deep golden yellow to brown. Unusually rich and concentrated, Yquem wines have extraordinary aging potential. "Guitry said that after Mozart the silence that followed was still Mozart. After a sip of Yquem, the moments that follow are always of Yquem."
