Description

Recently purchased from a family of travellers shuffling past my door, who assured me that it had been in their family since their gran`dad passed away in 1993....

I informed them that this chateau of 12.75 hectares is planted with 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc and that the annual 80000 bottles are aged in oak for 12/18 months, and that being on the limit of the St Emilion/Pomerol dividing line over deep gravely soils which produce robust, firm, rounded wines, they can take 20 years to show their full potential. Furthermore 1989 being one of the best Bordeaux vintages this fine St Emilion will be at its best now and for five more years, possibly more.

"Begorrah" they cried and in exchange for two of Tesco`s finest screw tops the deal was done!
