The finest La Fleur-Petrus I have tasted, this dense ruby/purple-colored wine exhibits aromas and flavors of Chinese black tea, raspberries, kirsch liqueur and flowers. Elegant, yet crammed with concentrated fruit, it is symmetrical, harmonious and long, with tremendous persistence on the palate. It is a wine of finesse and richness that admirably balances power with elegance. A great success! Anticipated maturity: 2003-2020. 92/100. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate.

Black licorice, minerality, earth, milk chocolate covered cherries and fresh raspberry scents focus your attention on what's in the glass. The silk and velvet, palate caressing mouth feel is pure, sensuous Pomerol. The wine ends with an elegant, soft, fresh, clean, spicy cherry filled finish. Drinking perfectly today, this will age and improve for at least another 15 or more years. But there is no reason not to open a bottle of this sexy wine today.

Chocolate covered boysenberries, truffle, violets, mocha, smoke, toast, spicy black cherry and earthy aromas get you interested into knowing more about what's in the glass. Full bodied and filled with luscious ripe plums, chocolate and boysenberry, this sensuous, opulent, pleasure machine of a wine is running on all cylinders today and should get better with time. This is the best showing yet for 1998 La Fleur Petrus. I'm glad I have a few more bottles left in the cellar.

Baronne Guichard wine dinner, Ruth's Chris DC (Ruth's Chris on Connecticut Ave, DC): Very youthful showing, start with a hint of ash, plums, black fruits, lead pencil and truffles. The palate displays youthful sweet fruits, silky texture and excellent structure with noticeable sweet tannins.
