Description

A well known chateau about 1/2 a mile north of the village of Margaux itself on the right hand side.

In recent years they have expanded in purchasing Ch Labegorce Zede from the Thienpont family.

In 1996 it consisted of 29 hectares planted with 55% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot and 5% cabernet franc. The estate itself goes back many hundreds of years and its history, families etc make interesting reading.

From the acclaimed 1996 vintage, and now 15 years old, this Margaux is approaching its best.

In excellent condition in a bottle with the name in relief (a rarity today) the level is well into the neck, the French duty paid capsule is unblemished and the label is in good order - see photos.
