Description

From a very good and in my opinion under rated château this bottle is very old and as such the label is quite badly bin soiled and damp affected. The capsule is actually firm and intact but well worn with the cork very slightly depressed. As for the level, this is at about high shoulder which is extremely good for a wine 56 years old.
Who knows what the quality of the wine will be after all these years.
It's quite a rare vintage for Lascombes but bidders should take into account the age and the possibility that the wine might not be up to that expected.
My personal recommendation would be to decant it into a small (ish) decanter so that it doesn't get too much air quickly. Then expect it to last no more than an hour or 2.
