Description

A single bottle recently removed from excellent long term storage in an underground Essex cellar.

Sadly, the label has become detached and is completely missing. Happily, Chateau Latour use a highly distinctive capsule complete with vintage - thereby fully identifying the wine.

Ullage is extremely good for a wine that is now over 60 years old, and the wine colour looks a very healthy red viewed under bright lighting.

11/14/2014 - dream Likes this wine: 96 Points

"20 Vintages of Latour at Daniel." This was the wine I most wanted to take to dinner tonight as it was just singing. Incredible silky smoothness with lovely terroir-driven flavors especially grilled nuts, tar, graphite and sweet/smoky earth. Finishes fine and complex with utter class and breed. In the softer style of Latour with the tannins fully resolved but much more depth of flavor than the '62. Just gorgeous.....
