This is so decadent and exciting on the nose, with very ripe fruit, tobacco, meat and cedar. Full-bodied, offering amazing raspberry fruit in the core of the palate. Ultrapolished, velvety tannins wonderfully coat every inch of your palate. This will age for years ahead, but it's so lovely now."

A shy Latour that is structured, filled with tobacco, cocoa and black tea flavors. Despite being decanted for over an hour, this bottle of 1989 is still retrained and not that expressive. The finish is long and the tannins, though high, are very well handled.

Wow! What a nose! Deeply scented with powerful red fruit and violet notes. A room filler. On the palate a little more gentle. Deeply refined yet still rich and full of fruit. A less visceral Latour than the 1990 but still exploding with class and concentration with many years left in it. Lovely
