Description

A sleeper vintage it has a deep plum/garnet colour and a gorgeous nose. It is full bodied, very pure, ripe, with loads of concentration yet good definition and structure. This is a classic that should drink well until 2015. 92/100 Robert Parker

Tasted twice. Consistent notes. A incredibly entertaining wine with beautiful balance, perfectly ripe raspberry and cherry fruit with raisiny scent and great intensity. Lovely structure and impressive length on the palate. Just delicious. I Litwar

Tasted by cct on 8/12/2011 & rated 92 points: SOM'd overnight. Bricking rim. A mature nose with leather, some herbal- mossy notes, sweet supple fruit, with green more than black olives, bitter chocolate, and some decaying leaves at first. After time in the glass the fruit emerged round, soft and supple, with surprising tannins that sneak in on the back end of the roundness on the midpalate. My guess is that is '88 tendencies. This is mostly secondary now, and for me in a great window for drinking.

Tasted by Eric on 1/19/2006 & rated 91 points: St. Émilion (and Pomerol) offline at Kaspar's (Seattle, WA): Iron, chocolate, musky and dusky. Mmm, a nice palate, vibrant, chewy and masculine.
