I have for sale 3 bottles of Chateau Leoville Barton 1982 from the legendary 1982 vintage. Labels are stained, but the foils are in very good condition for the age and the levels are superb. Latest Cellartracker reviews:

12/30/2015 - HKBOB LIKES THIS WINE: 94 Points
Brick red. Fully mature with autumnal notes of dried leaves and burned tobacco. More red fruit than dark on the palate with mostly resolved tannins. Lovely finish. This was a delicious bottle and an interesting contrast to the much more youthful 1990 drunk alongside. Splitting hairs but I would choose the 1990 over the 1982.

Christmas Eve "Eve" or Twas the Night Before the Night Before with Some Really Great Wines (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Very dark red color with a 5mm transitional bricked margin. Slow-O for 2 hours and double decanted for 2 hours, then had another 2 hours open before serving. Drank 1 glass over an hour. This was heavenly, a superb bottle, recently acquired and simply marvelous. A stunning nose with pencil lead, floral perfume, cassis, dark berries, funk, earth, cigar, dried herbs and spice. The palate is wonderful as well, the fruit is so lively with bright cassis, dark red and black berries, layered, complex, really earthy, leather, spice, pencil, tobacco, integrating tannins, very long finish. There was nothing missing here, age, beauty, finesse, life and love. It doesn't get a lot better than this. This would appear to be at or near peak now, may improve a bit, but should drink well for 15+years. 96+pts.

My almost Co WOTN. Edged out by a small margin and palate preference for the 2009 Rousseau Charmes Chambertin. That said, this is about everything I wish every bottle of Bordeaux in my cellar would offer. I have about 70 btls of Bordeaux to 300 btls of red Burgundy in my cellar. I enjoy Bordeaux but rarely do I taste one this exceptional. For me, this is "Burgundian" with an etherealness I attach to great Burgundy. Classic Cigar box and lead pencil on the nose and palate. Some forest floor too. Really, so placid and resolved. If only all old btls could maintain this level of freshness and yet show these endless layers. Charmed the pants off of me. Great wine in a great place. Ok, I'll promote to it to my CO WOTH along with the Rousseau :) Thanks Kevin! A recent acquisition to boot. Really appreciate that my buddy Kevin makes sure the wine has the right amount of air, temp and sediment handling of all his wines.
