Lot 66

Chateau Leoville Barton 2eme Cru Classe, Saint-Julien, 1959

Chateau Leoville Barton 2eme Cru Classe, Saint-Julien
Chateau Leoville Barton 2eme Cru Classe, Saint-Julien
Arrow

Description

Levels 3 BN, 1 HS, labels soiled and torn, capsules intact with no sign of any past or recent seepage, imported by Barton & Guestier, damaged Civil Service Stores labels.

Recently discovered at a waterfront property previously owned by a pioneering British inventor on the South Coast. The collection lay undisturbed in the cellar since the early 1960s. The long-term storage in complete darkness coupled with the maritime climate, consistently low temperatures and damp cellar conditions has contributed to the ageing and preservation of the wine and their remarkable fill levels and colour.
After careful removal, the wines are now stored horizontally in a dark, stable environment. Please email our team for additional images or to book an inspection appointment in Newbury .
We invite you to read our Dreweatts article on the website to discover more about this wonderful collection with our tasting notes and photos.
