Description

Still deeply coloured, fragrant, zestful, sweet, delicious flavour ***(**) Michael Broadbent

This is a beautiful wine with an evolved personality and low acidity. The wine exhibits abundant quantities of earthy, smoke and tobacco-tinged, black currant fruit, rich, concentrated, medium to full-bodied flavors, and moderate tannin in the long finish. It is successful, but nowhere near full maturity. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020.Score: 91/100 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (129), June 2000

Classic dry claret nose. Very dry finish. Remarkably youthful crimson with a pale rim. In the glass it opened out to real richness but it definitely needs decanting to show its best. A very solid concentrated wine that mellowed in the glass but still has quite a life ahead.Score: 17/20 Jancis Robinson MW December 2014

A wine that continues to improve with age. Shows loads of ripe plum, almost prune, with hints of vanilla and mineral. Full, chewy and tight. Still needs time. Lynch-Bages non-blind vertical. Best after 2008. 94/100 James Suckling Wine Spectator
