This lot contains 3 bottles in total of 2005 claret as a mixed lot; all purchased en primeur and subsequently stored in my cool cellar.

2005 has proven to be a vintage with sterner structure and slower ageing than many anticipated. I believe that these 5th growths are now in a sweet spot where the wines have attractive fruit and reasonable complexity, allied to a full but sufficiently mellowed structure to permit drinking pleasure now and in the next five years. For somebody wanting to understand the similarities and differences of how three of Pauillac's classed growths have developed in this vintage, this lot should provide a fascinating insight.

These bottles all have good labels with minor blemishes as to be expected. The levels are all good--c 0.5cm to the cork for the Grand-Puy Lacoste and c 1cm for the others. There are no signs of ullage.
