Description

Chateau Monbazillac is by a long way the most imposing property in this appellation. A socking great chateau on top of quite an imposing hill.

This bottle from the 2002 vintage - an excellent year for the dessert wines of this area - and is in excellent original order.

Awarded a Gold Medal in 2005 at the Bordeaux Competition.

Approaching ten years it is now taking on darker hues as does all good dessert wine. Will age almost indefinitely.

Found on the Cellartracker, the following note :
"Tasted by pjaines on 7/8/2009: Superb wine with good tension between the sweetness of the fruit and a lemony, acidity freshness. Some somkey secondary characteristics. Will improve over the next 10 years".
