Description

A magnum of this rare wine. Bought I think from Tanners many years ago and properly cellared ever since. The wine attracts an average critics' score of 91 points, and currently retails at an average price of £158 per bottle including tax in the UK.

The wine is a famous blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Cinsault from vineyards near the Bekaa Valley villages of Ammiq, Aana and Kefraya on gravelly soils over limestone. Planted from the 1930s onwards, yields are low from these mature bush vines (average age: 40 years): 35hl per hectare.

Musar has a unique style, characterised by baked spicy red fruits and complex high-toned aromatics. It ages very gracefully indeed.

Critics' ratings include 5 stars from the great Michael Broadbent and a 93.2 points Cellartracker average score from 26 ratings.

You will do well if you can find a magnum of this wine anywhere else: I searched and could not.
