Description

Surprisingly there seems to be a dearth of professional critic notes on this particular vintage, but it seems to be going down well with most of the Cellartracker community, with a median score of 91pts from 14 ratings.

Here are a couple of fairly recent ones:

10/10/2014 - JINATNRT LIKES THIS WINE: 91 Points
"Opened and decanted. Enjoyed over two hours. Went through many transformations during that short period of time. Most predominant notes were sweet sour cherry notes. Along the way came tar, smoke, meat, and mixed herbs. It stumped few people in the blind tasting with some suggestions of aged burgundy from a hot vintage as well as southern rhone. Another educational wine, yet very yummy in a tart way."

7/3/2012 - DEVEN BLACKBURN LIKES THIS WINE: 93 Points
"Perfectly balanced. Heavy minerals, which normally turns me off, spicy, slight acid, nutty butter interwoven, wild berry. Again, all perfectly balanced. Completely new genre for me; I'm loving it. Will seek out more and many."
