Description

6 bottles of Pape Clement Rouge 2013 in OWC. Stored in a cool, subterrenean London cellar since purchase. I have several cases of this so am selling to fund some cellar diversification! Offered on a No Reserve basis - best UK price for a 6 pack is the equivalent of £65 a bottle on the table (£388 per 6)!

'The 2013 Pape Clement has a not dissimilar bouquet to the Smith-Haut-Lafitte with blackberry, cedar and light tobacco scents gently unfolding in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and well judged acidity that binds it together. I like the detail here, one of the more precise 2013s with a tender finish that has a commendable persistence. This is an impressive 2013 that should bestow 12 to 15 years drinking pleasure.'

I've drunk a couple of bottles of this over the past few years and it's a lovely classic Claret - savoury, elegant and refined. 2013 may have a poor reputation but this wine shows how silly it is to write off a vintage. I reckon this has the legs to go another 10-15 years and indeed I am trying to slow my rate of consumption to test the theory!
