Signature Rhône Blend from the Ventoux High‑Vineyard Source, Founded by Paul Chaudière in Côtes du Ventoux, Château Pesquié elevated the region’s reputation with its flagship wine, La Quintessence, first released in 1990.
This benchmark blend—primarily Syrah with Grenache (~20%) sourced from 50+‑year‑old vines at elevations between 250–350 m—has become a touchstone Rhône collector’s wine.
The 1997 vintage earned 91 points from Wine Advocate, praised as intense and rich with excellent length. It remains a mature expression of old‑vine Grenache–Syrah that shows ventilated Rhône character—with garrigue, spice, black cherry and savoury depth—fully harmonious after nearly 30 years in bottle.
