Description

This auction is for a bottle of Chateau Petrus 1955. It has been inherited from a Scottish estate where it has been cellared for the past 25 years that I know of, and probably since being purchased after release.

The ullage is upper mid shoulder.

The Wine Spectator review of this exceptionally rare vintage is :

"A very ripe style, with an abundance of tobacco fruit, although not as concentrated as the '59. Lovely silky finish" Outstanding. 91

Also :

"From the very good 1955 vintage, this rare 1955 bottle of Petrus scores 91/100 Wine Society points and is velvety and suede textured and is rich and powerful with a magnificant bouquet and a creamy laid-back taste"

Everything about the wine is original and the label is very clean (with a small amount of damage on the bottom left corner as seen in the photograph).
