Description

Offered per bottle with a maximum of 12 bottles, this well known Medoc from the same opwners of the Second Growth Ch Leoville-Las-Cases.

Situated at Begadan with 31 hectares under vines composed of 70% Cab Sauv, 30% Merlot and aged in second year oak barrels from Las Cases.

Robt.Parker rates this wine as equivalent to a Fifth Growth, praise indeed, and rates Potensac as between 89-85/100 in most vintages.

The late owner Michel Delon, never wanted to be a member of the Cru Bourgeois classification, considering it to be a waste of time and money as Potensac was way above `all that`....this is policy continued to this day by his son.

In a few words, "this is serious Medoc made by serious people who leave nothing to chance".

The 1976 vintage is remembered as the year of `la secheresse` and was as dry a summer as it was in England that year.
