You are bidding on a 70 year old bottle of Margaux wine from the famous Chateau Rauzan-Gassies vineyard which was classified as one of fifteen Deuxième Crus (Second Growth) vineyards in the 1855 Bordeaux Wine Official Classification. The chateau has produced consistently fine wines over several centuries. It is unopened and has been stored in a temperature controlled wine cellar. The wine is between mid and top shoulder (see photos).The year it was made, 1952, is clearly labelled on the neck. Typically this wine from the world famous Margaux region, renowned for its sandy-gravel soil, is made up of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes.This is a very rare wine these days on account of its age. It will be despatched bubble wrapped by insured carrier upon receipt of payment together with a wooden presentation box. It would make a perfect 70th birthday gift.
