Description

Château Talbot is a famed 4ème Cru Classé Bordeaux in the UK. It takes its name from John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury, who unfortunately lost Bordeaux back to the Bordelaise in the 15th Century.

Owned by the Cordier family, it’s 102 hectares are situated in St-Julien-Beychevelle.The Grand Vins from Talbot is typically a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (66%), Merlot (26%), Cabernet Franc(3%), and Petit Verdot (5%) - which include 18 months maturation in small oak barriques (50% new).

For many 1970 was considered the best vintage of the decade.
