Oz Clarke says that if you've never tried Petrus you'd find Trotanoy the perfect Pomerol. Why not see for yourself? From the well-reviewed 2009 vintage, this wine is made in small quantities (average 2000 cases a year) compared to the first growths (often above 20k) and highly collectible. Plenty of reviews on the internet calling it 'magnificent' and 'opulent', five stars etc. 98+ Parker points. I suspect this will be a good deal compared to what the first growths are going for. One other thing, now might be a good time to buy as wine prices seem to be ticking up a bit right now, possibly following the stock market after a lull of a few years.
