Chateauneuf du Pape

2007 Vintage
Jancis Robinson
When to drink: 2013 to 2020
Grenache Noir 65%, Syrah 15%, Mourvèdre 15%, Cinsault 5% - first 10 months in cement and then 12 months in large foudres. Big and bold and exaggerated. Big, burnt nose – massive and very burnished! So exotic and rich and almost like one of those fruit salads made from reconstituted dried fruits... Exotic flavours. Very distinctive. A little crude, though perhaps this will emerge eventually as a harmonious and interesting drink? Wait quite a while though! Jancis Robinson
Tasted: 10-Dec-2008
