Description

A bottle in good order for a 45+ year old.

Level: Very top Shoulder
Label: Complete with just some vague traces of 'glue banding' see photo
Capsule: The usual embossed capsule showing no signs of any leaks.

Tasted by dbp on 10/25/2012 & rated 93 points: Brought to a restaurant and no formal notes, but this was spectacular, and not showing any hint of its 46 years of age. I'd suspect 15 years old based on its brilliant red color but mature fruit tones. This was brilliant and delicious on the nose, with a beautiful seamless palate experience. Went fantastic with our meal. It was a pop and pour, and my last glass I filled quite full and it did wind up going down hill for the 30 minutes in the glass, so definitely drink quick. But it shows plenty of brightness and freshness after opening. A really beautiful aged wine.

Tasted by MLipton on 6/17/2012: A brilliant showing for this wine. It was double decanted 3 hr. before serving and I think that it helped. Lovely cedar and graphite with a great backbone and enough fruit to keep everyone happy. The color was still quite intense with only slight bricking. I can only hope that my remaining bottles show this well.

Tasted by vindictive on 4/11/2012: Superb again. A lovely claret with plenty of life yet. Holds up well over several hours.
