R.Parker awarded 88 points commenting :
"Dark ruby/garnet with a backward, spicy, peppery, black fruit nose (also truffles?), La Conseillant's telltale sweet,charming, alluring fruit is pushed to the background by the 1994's tannin and austerity. The wine reveals more weight than the 1993, but also more structure. There is good fruit under the tannin, but the 1994, atypically for La Conseillante, requires another 1-3 years of cellaring; it should keep for 10-12. Last tasted 1/1997.

Rather more recently - April 2011, a Cellartracker member left the following notes :
"Dark garnet core with brick rim. This was really delicious, fully matured but with enormous energy and drive. This has alluring aromas of perfume dried roses, leather, sweet plum, smoke meat, earth, chalk and touch of milk chocolate that wrapped up to the very soft, complex and elegance bouquet. Palate is as good as the nose that still possess very good freshness and focus, tobacco leaf, mint, earth, with good sweetness from sweet plum and acid from blackberry that accompany with mineral freshness, very good and delicious. The tannin is very fine and almost fully resolved. Finish is long and linger. with matured complex mouth feel and bitter cocoa".
