Description

RP95
Made from a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, this spectacular 2003 hits all the sweet spots on the palate. A glorious bouquet of cedarwood, jammy black currants, cherries, liquorice and truffle is followed by a dense, opulently textured, full-bodied wine with terrific purity and freshness as well as deep, velvety textured tannins. Enjoy this beauty over the next 10-12 years. Robert Parker Wine Advocate August, 2014

Very pretty aromas of plum, blackberry, chocolate, espresso and cherry follow through to a full-bodied palate, with ultra-silky tannins, refined fruit and a long, caressing finish. This is fine and refined with a wonderful texture. Not quite the 2000, but excellent. Best after 2011. 18,330 cases made.
James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2006

This immaculate bottle of a "Super-Second" is from a whole case of 12 delivered to me two months ago in its OWC by the Wine Society where it has been stored since en primeur. Stored at 12 deg C in my Liebherr wine cabinet since arrival.

What is a "Super-Second"? Coming to mind are La Mission, Léoville Las Cases, Léoville Poyferré, Pichon Lalande, Pichon Baron, Montrose, Ducru Beaucaillou, and Gruaud Larose .. properties that might be close to challenging for a First Growth status if an updated 1855 classification was established; in other words to join Lafite, Latour, Margaux, Haut Brion and since 1973 Mouton.

Sensible, competitive reserve set.

If buyers choose to use Paypal, they will be invoiced with an additional 4% of total cost of wine and carriage to cover their charges.
