Clos Saragnat Ice Wine 2011
The finest Ice Wine created by Christian Barthomeuf who has work for companies such as "Domaine Pinnacle" and “Domaine Cotes d'Ardoise”.
He makes his Ice Wine without any pesticides or herbicides in the orchards and the finished product is certified “Organic”.
What is the the difference of this Ice Wine to others -
Some producers of Ice Wine will pick the grapes in the autumn and place them in cold storage until the frosts come. They then move the grapes from cold storage to outside to allow them to freeze “naturally”. Other producers will press the grapes in the autumn to gain the juice and place in cold storage, the juice goes from cold storage to outside to allow it to freeze “naturally”. Clos Saragnat does not bend the rules, they only produce the purest organic Ice Wine from grapes frozen on the vine.
