Description

Normally retails at around £50/bottle - ex-trade stock offered at around 40% discount to Retail.

An astonishingly complex recreation of a legendary medieval wine style.

The name originates from olden days when the winegrowers of the Lot made Vin Noir or Black Wine by heating part of the grapes or part of the must. This wine was favoured by the middle age English courts. Jean-Luc Baldès wanted to rekindle this historic technique, and bring back the splendour of this long-forgotten luxury. A very special wine made using a winemaking process which has lain dormant for centuries.
The wine is deep, dark purple, indeed almost black. The nose is rich and opulent with hints of dried fruits, candied fruits and blackberry jam, with hints of sweet oak. An explosion of flavours assaults your tastebuds as you sip the wine – enormously complex and luxurious, with a seemingly endless finish
