Description

88-91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "From Vialliere: Seductively perfumed scents of fresh strawberry, raspberry and violet underscored by zesty minerality. "This is always the most flattering cuvee," Gilbert Clusel told me. From Les Plantes: Darker color. Dense cherry and cassis on the nose. Bitter cherry and dark chocolate flavors are chewy but not at all hard. Great length. From "various parcels": More pungent scents of spicy cherry and wild strawberry. Energetic, taut and sweet, with strong red fruit character. From "young vines" in La Petite Feuille: Intensely floral aromas of vibrant red berry, cherry, violet and dried rose. Fresh and sweet, with vivid red fruit flavors and silky tannins." (Jan/Feb 08) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Fresh and forward, with an almost buttery feel around the edges of the dark cherry, briar, spice, olive and incense notes. There's a nice dusting of sandalwood on the medium-weight finish. Drink now through 2016." (11/09) 12.5% abv. ST 88-91 pts, WS 90pts
