Bought from The Wine Society en-primeur, stored in spiral cellar.

From WS description: A wonderful Cornas brimming with sweet blackcurrant fruit flavours and some elegance. Dumien’s wines seem to be gaining in depth and finesse with each
vintage. Recommended drink dates 2009–2015*

Cornas is a village that has benefited from being bypassed by the main north-south route. It is now a pleasant stroll along the Grand Rue, passing a number of cellars before reaching the Rue du Ruisseau, along which lies the cellars of Dumien Serrette. Behind the cellars the steeple of the village church rises as though a part of this small, very traditional winery.

Dumien-Serrette's two hectares of vineyard lies in the south of the Cornas appellation on a steep, south-east-facing slope of friable, decomposed granite. It is a sheltered spot, protected from cool northerly winds and surrounded by olive and oak trees, with a microclimate that allows for early ripening of the. The vintage here is earlier than in many sites and the hand-picked fruit is always very ripe. The result is deep, fruity and succulent wines.
