Description

Remarkable colour intensity, shiny appearance. Tremendous bouquet in terms of variety of aromas and of power. Tempranillo aromas find a balance with those of ageing, mostly toasty and balsamic aromas. Round and structured on the palate.

Softened by 2 years in barrel, this lovely wine is aromatic and spicy delivering rich fruit on the savoury palate with an elegant and complex finish.

A selection of the best grapes from our Rioja Alta vineyards around the village of Villalba (hand harvested). Prior to commencing the alcoholic fermentation, the whole bunches of grapes are cooled down to a low temperature in order to extract the maximum expression of the Tempranillo fruit. Once the fermentation has been completed in a combination of oak vats and stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, the wine is aged in a mixture of new American and French casks for two years before bottling and then a further two years in bottle prior to its release to the market.
