About the wine:
Domaine de Bellene was founded by Nicolas Potel and continues today under the same guiding principles: careful vineyard selection, restrained winemaking and an emphasis on balance and transparency of site. The domaine focuses on expressing individual climats rather than imposing a heavy house style.

Volnay is one of the Côte de Beaune’s most admired appellations, celebrated for its perfume, finesse and silky tannin structure.
Les Grands Poisots is a well-regarded lieu-dit situated close to the border with Pommard, where limestone and marl soils give wines that combine Volnay’s elegance with a touch more structure and mineral grip.

The 2016 vintage is widely regarded as one of Burgundy’s finest of the last decade, delivering wines with purity of fruit, freshness and excellent balance. This wine should show red cherry and raspberry fruit, floral notes, subtle spice and a clear mineral line, supported by fine, well-integrated tannins. It is approachable now with some air and will continue to develop positively over the medium term.
