Description

Domaine de la Grange des Peres was founded in 1989 by Laurent Vaillé, an ex-physiotherapist, who quit his profession in the early 80’s to pursue a career in wine-making. His experience reads, as a ‘whose who’ of fine wine production. He has worked in the cellars of Burgundy’s Coche-Dury (who Robert Parker described as “one of the greatest wine makers on planet earth”), Hermitage’s Jean Louis Chave (producing the finest wines in the Rhone for over 500 years), and Domaine de Trévallon (the wine that created ‘The cult of the Languedoc’). The vineyards of Grange des Peres are planted with Syrah, Marsanne, and Roussane cuttings from Chave and Cabernet from Domaine de Trévallon. Like their famous neighbours Mas de Daumas Gassac, they chose to ignore local appellation laws and plant varieties best suited to the soil, and their desired style.
