Description

1 pristine bottle of Domaine Hudelot-Noelat Richebourg 2003 (actual bottle is shown in the second photo).

Stephen Tanzer 91-95 points:
Full red-ruby color. Pure, cooler aromas of cassis, violet, licorice and menthol. Densely packed and spicy; less silky and expressive today than the Romanee-Saint-Vivant but also more focused and pure, with more obvious energy. Gripping, sappy flavors of black cherry and licorice. Finishes with superb palate-coating length. Un monsieur ," Hudelot volunteers, suggesting that the Romanee-Saint-Vivant is a more feminine style of grand cru. "This wine will be easy to taste young and will stay young for a long time," he added, comparing this 2003 to the 1978 version in this respect. March/April 2005, Issue #119.

Burghound 91-94 points:
As one might reasonably expect, this is aromatically much less expressive but no less complex with a different but equally potent mix of spice, earth and an underlying animale character to the very ripe black fruit aromas that serve to highlight robust yet classy full-bodied, powerful and incredibly concentrated, impressively structured flavors that deliver compelling length and finishing complexity. This has that rare 'wow' factor. (Drink starting 2015). 1st Quarter, 2005, Issue #17.
