Description

You are bidding on a single bottle of Domaine Weinbach's superb Riesling from the 1998 vintage. The wine is in excellent condition, with only minor damage to the label and a few marks. The capsule is clean and undamaged and shows no sign of seepage. This wine was bought by me direct from the vineyard in 2000. Old Rieslings are a thing of beauty.

The level is well into the neck and the wine appears to be clear and bright.

Edgy, superripe aromas of lemon cream, tangerine and pineapple, lifted by a soupçon of noble rot. Spicy, minerally and quite dry, but showing more texture and flavor intensity today than the '97. I find this finer and less austere. 90-92 points
