Description

One bottle each of the gold prize-winning 1998 Hochheimer Kirchenstuck Riesling Auslese from Domdechant Werner, the Hochheimer Berg Riesling Kabinett 2001 also from Domdechant Werner, and the Kanzemer Altenburg Riesling Spatlese 2001 from Weingut Johann Peter Reinert.

Domdechant Werner is a historic family estate with a collection of top single vineyard sites in Hochheim. Dr Franz Werner is the 7th generation of the family to run the estate. Some 10 km from Weisbaden, he produces exquisitely balanced wines that have a fine mineral quality.

Weingut Johann Peter Reinert is located in the municipality of Kanzem (Saar area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, It was founded in 1813 by Johann Peter Reinert and is now run in the fifth generation by another Johann Peter Reinert. The vineyards cover 4.2 hectares, with the emphasis on environmentally friendly viticulture. The winery is a member of the Bernkasteler Ring.

The bottles on sale are those shown in the photos. The levels are all good. There is some cellar nicking on several of the labels as shown. The capsules are as shown.

These bottles should provide decent drinking, with the added benefit of being low in alcohol (8%, 8.5% and 7.5% respectively).
