Stored with The Wine Society, delivery will be by courier direct from their temperature-controlled cellars.

This well-placed property with a good proportion of old vines, delivers lots of full satisfying flavour. Situated in the heart of the village of Grand-Poujeaux, Château Dutruch Grand-Poujeaux gets its name from its one-time owner in the 19th century.

The late François Cordonnier, graduate of the Ecole d’Agriculture in Beauvais, took over the estate in 1967 after gaining his expertise at many great vineyards throughout France, including Château de Chenonceau. The 32-hectare estate is now run by his nephew Jean-Baptiste and his wife Nathalie, and is planted with 45% cabernet sauvignon, 50% merlot and 5% petit verdot, on mainly gravel and clayey-limestone soil and subsoil, and the vines have an average age of 32 years.

The wine is matured for twelve months in French oak, a third of which was new. This is generous full-flavoured Claret from a vineyard next to Chasse Spleen which offers great value for money. Drinking window 2015 - 2022.
