Description

Created in the first half of the 20th century after inheriting a few vines, the Etienne Sauzet estate quickly expanded by acquiring new vines. From the outset, Etienne Sauzet knew how to produce great wines.
It was Gérard Boudot (husband of Jeanine Boudot, granddaughter of Etienne Sauzet) who, from 1974, raised the estate to the top. A policy of limited yields, the latest possible harvests, followed by a classic vinification marked by settling (which allows aging on very fine lees) contribute to creating wines of great consistency and exemplary finesse, unanimously praised by French and foreign wine lovers. Please note: since 1989, following a division of the estate, Gérard Boudot has been running a trading business and purchasing musts to supplement his production, without any loss of quality. Since Etienne Sauzet, four generations have succeeded one another, and today Emilie Boudot (great-granddaughter of the founder) and Benoît Riffault have been running the estate for 20 years.
Many of the great appellations of the Côte de Beaune are produced by the family, which farms more than 10 hectares organically and biodynamically. For example, some notable climats such as Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru Les Combettes or Champ Canet. The family also produces grands crus that are the dream of all wine lovers: Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet... or Corton Charlemagne.
Sauzet is a name that still resonates as one of the finest tributes to Chardonnay.

About the vintage
This Chassagne-Montrachet opens with a very fine nose of fruity (citrus, apricot, mango) and floral (white flowers) aromas, with a marked minerality. This wine deserves to be aged for a few years.
