Solid and powerful CC, offering loads of black fruit, gamy and vanilla character. Full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a long, balanced, dark chocolate-tinged finish. Lots of toasted oak and ripe fruit. Still needs to come together, yet such potential. Best after 2003. 4,900 cases made. 92points James Suckling WS

Mature and drinking perfectly Chianti Classico
Released from the estate in June 2017 and bought from a reputable wine wholesaler and stored in my cellar since.

Not only does it still have a beautiful core of primary cherry fruit, it also has bags more complexity than you’d think and a level of concentration that one would not necessarily expect from a Chianti, let alone one that is 17 years old! It is in that perfect place between primary and secondary characteristics, making it hugely enjoyable drinking now. And it is not just a food wine, this could be enjoyed on its own too.
