Description

Felsina, Fontalloro 2018 is the jewel in the crown and the most representative expression of Sangiovese de Felsina. Nose of aromatic herbs accentuated with generous notes of tobacco and moist earth (also dry earth), black currant and liquorice. Rich structure, weight and elegant breed. Sangiovese de Fontalloro comes from vineyards located on the border between Chianti Classico and the Chianti Colli Senesi appellation. The vineyards that fall within the Chianti Classico appellation are located in the highest area of ​​Felsina, while those of Chianti Colli Senesi are lower (407-330 meters above sea level). Coming from the Etruscan, the word "Felsina" designated in the past a "place of lodging and food". Today, behind the ancient walls of this winery, the visitor can find some of the best-known Chianti Classico specimens from the south side of this appellation, where the warmer climate gives rise to complex, ample, velvety and round wines, all of them the most renowned of the Castelnuovo tradition. The great Chianti Classico from the winery, the vintage and the reserve, Rancia and Berardenga, ideal companions at any table.
