The biggest party weekend of the summer is upon us and we want you to have plenty of delicious and affordable red wine to serve at your own party or to take to someone else’s. The 2014 Frescobaldi Remole is an exuberant Tuscan blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet. It is fresh and fun and playful with an abundance of bright red berry fruit and a pleasant little pop of spice. When the weather forecast calls for highs in the upper 90’s, this is the sort of red wine that we just love to drink. The nose offers up an engaging perfume of rose petals, crushed raspberries, cedar, and mint. On the palate, you’ll find that the 2014 Remole is full of raspberry, blackberry, and ripe red cherry flavors all complemented by delicate hints of thyme, sun-baked earth, and juicy pomegranate seeds. This yummy, medium bodied red will be perfect with barbecued chicken, salmon, and burgers but this weekend we’re selling it for such a low price that you could even use it as the base for a really great summertime Sangria. Whatever you do, don’t pass this one up. This is a silly good little bottle of dry Italian Red and, especially at the case price, it’s a remarkable value!
