Description

A lesser-known, yet top-notch Tuscan wine, this delicious red differs from all Chianti DOCGs and many of the better known 'Supertuscans', in that the wine's varietal is 100% Merlot.

I am selling a FURTHER FOUR bottles (of 750ml each) from the excellent 2010 vintage. I MAY be able to split the package up and sell the bottles individually or as pairs. Please consult me if this route interests you more.

This ultra-smooth, complex, fruit soaked red has, as we speak, entered its "sweet spot" for drinking maturity. As Monic Larner (Head Italian Reviewer for The Wine Advocate and eRobertParker.com), writes:

"A massive expression of Merlot, the 2010 Galatrona is heaven-sent. The layers are infinite here spanning dark fruit, spice and chocolate. I fall in love with this wine year after year. The mouth is caressed with stirring complexity and fine tannins that feel silky and smooth. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030." Ms Larner awarded the 2010 Galatrona 96 points.

These bottles will be sold without a formal wooden case. Please note, that each bottle comes wrapped in extremely delicate, tissue-type paper, for aesthetic reasons only. This paper is so delicate that the mere act of sliding the wrapped bottles carefully into, or out of, my wine rack slots, has caused some small tears in the decorative paper. However, the actual labels (and more importantly, the bottle contents!) remain in perfect condition.

I very recently sold a case of six bottles of this identical wine. The winning bid was for £ 325.00 (Excluding p&p) for the six bottles (£ 54.17 per bottle).
