Type: Ticino DOC Merlot
Varietal composition: Merlot
Vinification: Vinified in the traditional method with a maceration period of 9 - 14 days at 28 - 30°C in stainless-steel tanks. The wine matured for over than 10 months in oak casks of 25 to 42 hl and in two or three year-old barriques.
Alcohol content: 12.8 % Vol.
Color: Intense and deep ruby red.
Bouquet: Intense and complex. With notes of redberry and blackberry fruits. Hints of menthol and liquorice.
Palate: Fresh and fruity, with a good structure. Mineral and elegant, tannins of perfect quantity and strength. Persistent at the finish.
Serving temperature: 16 – 18 °C
Aging: The Giornico Oro 2013 will reach its full expressive potential beginning in fall 2015 and will continue to develop in character through 2022 and beyond if properly cellared.
Packaging: 50 cl. in cartons of 15 bottles; 75 cl. in cartons of 6 bottles
150 cl. (Magnum) in cartons of 6 bottles; 300 cl. (Double Magnum) packaged singly in wood cases
