Description

A fascinating bottle of 1983 Harveys Vintage Porto, produced and bottled in Oporto by Martinez Gassiot & Co.
1983 was an excellent declared Vintage Port year, and at more than four decades old this bottle offers the opportunity to experience fully mature traditional Vintage Port.
A sound example should now display beautifully developed flavours of dark plums, black cherries and dried fruits, progressing into figs, raisins, chocolate, walnuts, liquorice and warming spice, with the rich sweetness and long finish associated with mature Vintage Port.
Condition: Original label remains complete and clearly legible but is heavily bin-soiled and stained from long-term storage. Capsule shows considerable age-related deterioration and losses, while the original Port institute neck seal remains partially present. Please study photographs carefully. No guarantee can be given regarding drinkability or condition of the contents due to the age of the bottle.
