A Masterclass in Australian Cabernet full bodied but super smooth and subtle – no sharp edges just deep crushed intense black fruits, mulberry, chocolate and soft spices. Hence sadly now it is so rare in the UK. The 2014 Vintage is one of the best released to date and is shining brighter every year it ages.

They say no Winemaker in the history of Western Australia has contributed more to the state's wine industry than Jack Mann.His creative genius influenced a remarkable 51 consecutive vintages at Houghton, with his life's work culminating in an MBE in recognition of his achievements and dedication to Western Australian wine industry

Includes 5% merlot, hand-picked, destemmed, wild yeast open-fermented, matured for 16 months in Bordeaux-coopered French oak (50% new). Why on earth the GI on the front label should read WA when the wine is solely from the Justin Vineyard in Frankland River I'll never know. Deep, vibrant crimson-purple, this is a wine built for the ages on its rock of ages blend of deep-seated cassis fruit, high quality oak and full-on cabernet tannins. Drink to 2054.
