Description

This is a fabulous dessert wine from the master of the Loire - Gaston Huet. The Clos du Bourg is a delicious, fruit driven wine that ages beautifully. It is made from grapes picked during the first pass through the vineyard to select the best of the crop.

The wine has been stored in one of my Eurocaves since purchase in the Loire in 2005(ish). The level is well into the neck, there are no signs of seepage and the appearance is excellent. The labels show shelving damage as you can see from the pictures.

Chris's Birthday at The Bridge Room: Apricot and mandarin, with honey and cinnamon following on the nose. Pure, delicate and clean with excellent acidity and a mineral core that extends and lifts the fruit, there is sweetness but not as much evident as I may have expected.

This lovely wine retails at between £65 and £67.50 a bottle.

The wine can be collected from central London from Mon-Fri or from North Wiltshire as you please - or of course I will ship it to you in a polysafe container.
