Classic, long-aged Tuscan Vin Santo from a blue-chip estate and a ripe vintage

About the wine:
Isole e Olena is a benchmark Chianti Classico estate in Barberino Val d’Elsa, and revered for precision and longevity. Isole e Olena, long guided by Paolo De Marchi, was acquired by the EPI group in 2022, the owners of Biondi-Santi and the Champagne house Charles Heidsieck.
The estate’s Vin Santo is made traditionally from late-harvested white grapes dried on racks, then aged for many years in small caratelli (old casks) for slow, oxidative development.
The 2000 vintage was warm and generous in Tuscany, yielding a richly textured, amber-gold Vin Santo with aromas of dried apricot, fig, orange peel, almond brittle, caramel and a hint of spice. The palate is concentrated yet lifted by lively acidity, finishing long, nutty and mouth-watering.

Bottle/condition:
37.5cl (half bottle). Clean label and capsule; excellent level. Stored in a cool, dark, temperature-stable environment. Photos show the actual bottle.
